Leadership Geauga hosted its Annual Service Day on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Chagrin Falls Park Community Center, bringing together participants from across its programs for a morning of hands-on community service.

Volunteers included some members of the Signature Adult Program Class of 2026 and alumni of the Signature Adult Program, Youth Institute, and Heritage Program. Together, they worked side by side throughout the morning to complete a variety of improvement and maintenance projects, both inside and outside the Community Center, and to deliver collected donations of cleaning supplies, including paper towels, hand soap, cleaning sprays, and other essential items, to support the Center’s ongoing needs.
Projects included interior and exterior painting, digging up and clearing out plants in flower beds, and moving rocks to line a new flower bed that will be planted and further enhanced by another local organization. Volunteers also cleaned and refreshed high-touch interior surfaces, including walls, handrails, bleachers, and doors. In addition, they rearranged furniture in the administrative area to create more space and establish a small conference meeting area for staff.
The Annual Service Day is a longstanding Leadership Geauga tradition that not only strengthens community partnerships but also fosters connections across program classes and alumni networks.
“Leadership Geauga service day volunteers tackled so many important projects that needed to be addressed at the Center,” said Andrea Pollock, Executive Director of Chagrin Falls Park
Community Center. “We are so grateful for the support and commitment to our program.”
“This is one of my favorite events of the year because it brings together current class participants and alumni to work side by side in support of a local nonprofit,” said Meredith Ashkettle, Executive Director of Leadership Geauga. “It’s a great opportunity to build deeper connections while making a positive impact in our community.”
Leadership Geauga extends its appreciation to all volunteers and donors who contributed their time, energy, and supplies to make the day a success.
