Ben Reed has dedicated his life to public service, serving as a Lieutenant and Director with the Middlefield Fire Department and a Fire Marshal for the City of Beachwood Fire Department. Despite his impressive career in fire service, Ben considers his greatest accomplishment to be co-founding Mission440, a nonprofit he established with four of his closest friends. In just three years, Mission440 has made a significant impact, and Ben looks forward to continuing to help those in need for years to come.

For Ben, Leadership Geauga provided the connections, courage, and knowledge necessary to launch Mission440 via his experience in 2019. The relationships built and lessons learned during the program have been instrumental not only in the success of his organization but also in his personal growth. “Leadership Geauga has helped me open up my circle. There are so many good people in this county that I never would have known if it were not for LG,” Ben shares.

Ben applies the skills and knowledge gained from Leadership Geauga daily, both in his professional and personal roles. The program has helped him develop the ability to view challenges from multiple perspectives, an invaluable skill in his leadership roles.

Since completing the program, Ben has taken on significant leadership responsibilities, including serving as Co-Founder/President of Mission440 and recently joining the Yoder Brothers Scholarship Foundation board. These roles allow him to continue making a difference in the community, a passion that Leadership Geauga helped nurture and strengthen.

Through his dedication to service, leadership, and community engagement, Ben embodies the mission of Leadership Geauga. He exemplifies the program’s commitment to civic engagement, personal growth, and leadership development, demonstrating its influence on its alumni and the broader Geauga County community.
