Leadership Geauga proudly announces the graduation of the Spring 2024 class of the Heritage Program for Retirees. On Wednesday, May 15, a ceremony at the Geauga Park District’s Holbrook Hollows marked this achievement, with friends and family joining the celebration.
The Heritage Program for Retirees, an initiative funded by generous grants from the Cleveland Foundation, is designed to empower retired individuals with the skills, knowledge, and networks to make impactful contributions to their communities. This spring, ten dedicated participants successfully completed the program:
Throughout the program, these retirees engaged with over 25 speakers who covered a wide array of topics, including business, arts & leisure, human services, agriculture, government, and the rich history of Geauga County. The class was notably interactive, participating enthusiastically in discussions and tours of local businesses.
The graduation ceremony featured a luncheon where certificates of completion were presented to the graduates, celebrating their commitment and hard work. Leadership Geauga’s Executive Director, Meredith Ashkettle, commended the graduates, saying, “We are incredibly proud of this remarkable group. Their dedication to learning and community service is truly inspiring, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make in Geauga County.”
Leadership Geauga extends its gratitude to the Cleveland Foundation for their crucial support in funding this enriching program. The next Heritage Program for Retirees is scheduled to begin in October, with more information and application details to be announced soon.
